The library of the West Bengal Commission for Women was established in November, 1998 with a view to facilitate the studies of those who need up-to-date information for their research works relating to various aspects of life and problems of women and children and for those who have to deal with the outstanding problems faced by the Indian women.

Within this short span, the library has in its collection a considerable number of books, journals relating to the problems of girl child and on women in general, and a good number of newspaper clippings, pamphlets, posters on current issues. There are reports from other State Women's Commissions, reports from different non-government organizations, reports and articles from the Women's Study Centers of different Universities etc. There are legal literature, reports published by UNICEF, WHO etc. Recently the library has started collecting CD's which will be of great help for research workers.
